close, as very tame but wouldn’t want to capture this lovely bird. wearing two tags (one on each foot). have photos but even if zoom in on tags can’t read. has been in our garden enjoying seed and water (we have a large bird feeding station (initial attraction) but i’ve put some wild bird seed in a separate area. beautiful colours on his neck (blue and green). seems quite content. he is the 4th pigeon i’ve heard of among my contacts who has taken up temp residence, assuming they are en route to somewhere! my mother contacted me and said a pigeon is in her neighbors yard with a orange band. all she could see was the number 44. he is black and white. Mary • maryc0522 at aol dot com

here at salem college in winston-salem, nc, we have rescued a beautiful pigeon with an injured leg, which has a band. the band is somewhat flattened on the injured leg. the bird does not like to put any weight on the leg, and we're not sure whether it has any other injuries. we are trying to see if our local bird rehab specialist can look at the bird, in case it has other injuries or needs further assistance. otherwise, the bird looks relatively healthy and is eating and drinking. we are keeping it in a clean, dry box with food and water. we contacted the name associated with the band number and found out that this pigeon was likely sold at an auction, along with hundreds of other similar birds, in pennsylvania. the band is yellow, and there is no band on the other leg, which could indicate that the current owner is, perhaps, local to the region around winston-salem, nc. we hope to be able to connect this bird with its owner soon! solid white pigeon has been hanging out with us for over a week. i put water out. has blue band on its foot so i’m sure he belongs to someone. he also let me get way closer than a ferrel bird. i have multiple pics but haven’t handled the bird to read his tag. a fancy pigeon with white head feathers and white tail feathers and a gray and blue body with a gray neck was near my house which is next door to the fire station and ravensdale washington of of 309th st se 98051. it looked like there was a red band around one of its legs but i couldn't make out the lettering. when i approached it it flew away towards the fish hatchery that's off of 309th street. maybe this pigeon is staying off of this street. the beautiful pigeon landed during a horrible storm, and has not gone home yet. it has been 6 days. he/she is eating birdseed that i place out for the wild birds, and they have water. the band is orange, but i cannot get close enough to it to pick it up to read the band. it has pretty colored feathers. the bird is at floor fashions of virginia at 2422 richmond road charlottesville, va 22911. the phone here is: or i can be reached on my cell # at . please help us find this bird's way home. this is not our first lost pigeon visitor. :):) thank you!!
