homing pigeon soared in my yard last night (8/25/18) has a large blue band on his leg (seams to be a solid band) with the last 4 #'s of 0246. looks like a*g or 8 and a b. does not appear to be injured just very tired. has been given food (seeds for large birds cock-a-too and congo grey), he has eaten 2 bowls so far and drank 2 bowls of water. any help and/or advice appreciated. we found this pigeon with black banding under wings, was found in our back yard this evening 8-23-2018. he is injured with a broken wing and while reading his band, noticed there is some blood in the beak. i have him in a box with some water on my patio, but i do not know what to do for him and there is nothing here that i might be able to feed him. i can bring him in for the night, but if i leave him out, one of the neighbor cats will surely get him. this is the way his band reads: npa 17 and an 8 that is sideways on the band, then be 4705. i am so sorry but i have found a few remains and beautiful feathers of a bird in my front yard yesterday evening near the base of my city street tree. upon closer review of the remains, i noticed the leg band. i could not find a 4 digit year number in the leg band and i am not sure the club letters is correct. i am sorry about the bird.
